James Hill House, North Kensington

Octavia is proud to have developed James Hill House in conjunction with its head office (Emily House).

All apartments in this 28 unit extra scheme are based on upper floors with fantastic views of the annual Nottinghill Carnival parade which passes outside its front doors.

The scheme is served by a lift to each floor and all floors have different colour coded walls and carpets to assist tenants with short-term memory loss.

All flats and communal areas are fully accessible to wheelchair owners.

To the ground floor there is a large communal lounge available for social activities, organised by or for tenants with a kitchen with direct access to the garden as well as staffing areas.

Flats to the rear of the building overlook both the Grand Union Canal and the schemes generously sized canal side communal garden and flats to the front of the building have views of Emslie Horniman's Pleasance Park.

The building provides:

  • 28 self-contained flats, including two flats for couples
  • three guest rooms
  • three small lounges
  • staff offices and facilities
  • assisted bathrooms
  • laundry and macerator rooms
  • Hot water supplied from Combined Heat and Power Unit in neighbouring Emily House

Octavia’s extra care housing schemes provide a warm and homely non-institutional development, one that respects the individuality, dignity and right to privacy of each tenant. We seek to help each tenant fulfill their highest potential - physically, emotionally and spiritually.
