Harbet Road, Paddington Basin
Developed by European Land Limited, this scheme is another fine example of partnership working with a West end Developer. Here Octavia Housing has successfully worked with European Land and acquired the affordable housing on Phases 1 and 2 of this prestigious development project in Paddington Basin.
On Phase 1 of this exciting scheme the affordable housing delivers a mixed residential scheme of shared ownership and general needs flats in one separate core. All cores are serviced from underground plant rooms where there is also a private car park. The ground floor of all of the development is commercial space affronting the canal waterside location. Phase 1 affordable housing consists of 44 homes comprising 28 for rent and 16 shared ownership flats over 12 floors. Phase 1 was completed in October 2010.
Phase 2 delivers a similar mixed residential scheme of shared ownership, intermediate rent and rented units again in a single core. Phase 2 affordable housing consists of 42 homes comprising 13 intermediate rented flats, 19 rented units and 10 shared ownership flats. Phase 2 completed in summer 2014.
This scheme is generally car free; however a car club is operated from Harbet Road which serves the whole neighbourhood.
Another 64 homes are to follow in 2019.
