Annual report 2021-22 3

Octavia’s Annual Report and Financial Statements 2021/22 is now live and available on our website.

The report provides details of our finances and performance for the year. It reports on the impact of our operations and our work with partners across our homes, support and care services and illustrates how we are listening to residents and our colleagues to evolve and improve Octavia’s services.

It also highlights the findings of the In-depth Assessment by the Regulator of Social Housing in November 2021.  We maintained a G1 grade for governance and V2 financial viability.

Sandeep Katwala, Chair of Octavia, said:

“2021/22 was another very challenging year for the sector.  I am very proud of how our organisation, colleagues, volunteers and partners responded throughout 2021/2022 to serve our communities.

“I’m pleased to report that our service performance remains strong; new affordable homes are being built, our extra care schemes are rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission, and we are engaging with more members of the community than ever before.

“Across the sector there are further challenges ahead, but I am pleased to report that together with our partners, we are enabling Octavia to stay true to its social purpose in providing homes, support and opportunity for people in central and west London.”

Sandra Skeete, Octavia CEO, said:

“We are pleased to report good progress in 2021/22 in delivering our new Corporate Strategy. We have worked with residents to develop ways to involve them more in influencing our services and through listening to their views, looked closely at how we can deal better with complaints. We also launched new strategies to support objectives relating to our community and sustainability ambitions.

“I would like to thank my colleagues for responding to the many challenges during the year, helping to ensure our continued success. Their wellbeing remains paramount. I am also very grateful for the continued support of our volunteers and partners, which has been instrumental in enabling us to increase our impact in the communities we serve. “
