Octavia publishes its first Environmental, Social & Governance report
Responding to all 48 criteria, Octavia has released its first annual report under the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing, joining just 59 other housing associations in recording and reporting on Environmental, Social & Governance measures such as zero carbon targets, energy efficiency, affordability and safety.
Commenting on the report, Octavia Chief Executive Sandra Skeete said: "We are very proud to be one of the early adopters of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing and I am delighted to be able to share our first Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) report."
"This report outlines our performance against our goals, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to sustainability and net zero carbon. It also highlights the positive impact of our work on residents and communities and our continued focus on robust and effective governance.”
The reporting standard was unveiled in November 2020 and includes 48 criteria across 12 core themes: affordability and security; building safety and quality; resident voice; resident support; placemaking; climate change; ecology; resource management; structure and governance; board and trustees; staff well-being; and supply chain management.
